Ceratogymna atrata or Black-casqued Wattled hornbill is a species of hornbill in the family Bucerotidae.

The gigantic black hornbill of African rainforests, often seen or heard in the canopy feeding on fruiting trees.

It has beautiful black feathers and the tip of its tail is white. They have a solid helmet-like structure on its head, which is gray with flecks of silver, as well as its peculiar unruly crest or wig.

Their voice is a loud braying wail that can be heard from several kilometers away.
