The Tasmanian devil lives on the island of Tasmania. They once lived across mainland Australia. They became extinct there around 3,000 years ago.
The Tasmanian devil hunts live prey and scavenges on dead meat. they have a keen sense of smell and feed with extreme ferocity.
Its large head and neck generate among the strongest bites of any predatory land mammal. It became the largest carnivorous marsupial in the world following thylacine’s extinction. It is distantly related to thylacine.
The animal grows to the size of a small dog. It features a stocky build, black fur, and a pungent odor. It has an extremely loud screech.
