The African lion is a large cat that lives only in sub-Saharan Africa and India. It has a muscular body and broad chest. This wild feline has a short, rounded head and rounded ears. A dark hairy tuft grows at the tip of its tail. Males look very different from females because adult males grow much larger and have a robust mane.
This animal inhabits open grasslands, savannahs, and shrublands. It acts as a top predator and mostly hunts medium or large hooved mammals. It stays active during the day more than other wild cats. It will adapt to hunting at night if people disturb it.
