Chirostenotes had a sharp beak and long arms with powerful claws. It also had long, slender toes. A tall, rounded crest sat on top of its head. This crest looked just like a modern cassowary bird. They lived during the Late Cretaceous period in Canada and the United States.
Beyond vegetation, its diet included small animals, lizards, unarmored mammals, amphibians, dinosaur eggs, grubs, insects, mollusks, larvae, local flora and small fauna across the prehistoric landscape.
