The Nile crocodile claims the title of Africa’s largest freshwater hunter. It rules the lakes, rivers, and swamps of central, eastern, and southern Africa.
On average, adult males grow between 11.5 and 16.4 feet long. They often weigh up to 1,650 pounds. Some massive individuals stretch past 20 feet and reach 2,000 pounds.
