Mustelidae Skull Replicas are museum quality polyurethane resin cast made in USA. The skulls are all 2-part skulls (separate cranium and jaw).

The Mustelidae are carnivorous mammals, including weasels, badgers, otters, martens, and wolverines.

There are about 66 to 70 Mustelids species in nine subfamilies.

Some mustelids have been domesticated such as the Ferret and the Tayra are kept as pets. Others have been important in the fur trade. The mink is often raised for its fur.

Mustelids are small animals with long bodies, short legs, short skulls, short, round ears, and thick fur.

All have well-developed anal scent glands. The five digits on each foot have sharp nonretractile claws.

Males are usually larger than females; among some weasels males are almost twice as large.

Most mustelids are solitary, nocturnal animals, and are active year-round.

Mustelids include the polecats, badgers, martens, otters, wolverine, and other members of the weasel family.

A number of mustelids have aquatic lifestyles, ranging from semi-aquatic minks and river otters to the fully aquatic sea otter.
